There are many really great benefits to be gained from writing your own Journal. Here is something to help you remember: You set the pace, find the place and get scribing it is your space!
Journaling is a great way of getting your thoughts and ideas down – getting things out in the open. It causes you to critically reflect on your day, what bothers you most, what you enjoy doing or what you want to change. It encourages deeper thinking and for me responsibility of my actions.
Journaling can enable you to reflect, record memorial events, poems, sayings or family history. You can also write, draw or scribble.
Journaling can be a source of comfort a way of debriefing after a challenging or indeed enjoyable day.
There are a number of famous journals you may have heard of: The Colour Purple, The Diary Of Anne Frank, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole age 13 & 3/4 and now Diary of A Black Girl.
For me journaling is a place where I can ‘discover myself’ a way of taking note, reflecting and changing my actions so if the same thing were to happen again I am better prepared. Writing my journal helps me slow down, record my dreams and aspirations and encourages me to reflect on my lifes’ directions, make changes where needed and track progress.
In this section I will be offering you words of encouragement and tips for journaling and reflection.
Well what are you waiting for? Get scribing!
