Diary Of A Black Girl

Live life, love, laugh

My hair through the years

July18

It took me 3 years to grow my dreadlocks from 2005-2008. Its amazing how quickly dreadlocks grow your hair.  I cut them off in 2009 because they got in the way of my face and were heavy but sometimes I miss them.

and this one was one of my favourite ones

I am tempted to grow them again since cutting them off but to keep them short like in photo two – or to twist them so I can untwist them and do something different with my hair.

How much can a girl do with natural hair? Its either dreadlocks or extensions or a nice big afro

It is also a reminder that it is time to get myself some new glasses :D

Now my hair is short I have to think about what to do next.  Everyone keeps going on at me to grow it although I personally would happily cut it all off until it is a short number 1…. but hair suits me too I guess.

All ideas welcome!

I’ve been out of touch for a while – in this ‘while’ so many things have happened to me.  In the moment when these ‘so many things’ were happening in my life I wanted to write – I mean that is what the Diary is for right?  However rather than write I thought I’d give my power to getting through things rather than putting pen to paper (fingers to keyboard) which is not like me usually I diversify and do many things – there was a lot to be said for focusing on one thing – for me it  worked.  It now means I will be writing retrospectively for a while.  Mabey it’ll make more sense if I just get on with it.  There is so much to say I am glad I am sharing this site with my beautiful dear friend Diane.  Whilst writing at this very moment I am thinking and believing this site is such a good tool to share with the world the experiences of two black women getting by in this big ‘ol world our ups and downs, our dreams and aspirations, our loves and losses our challenges and successes.  I am so happy here right now today this very second, and the next and the next …….. this time last year I was HOMELESS yes officially homeless a year on I have my own place, working as a community worker (my love) and lecturing in a college for excluded young people.  I’ve lost weight and I have a much healthier mind, body, soul and spirit.  During the last year I have had a year of abuse at work, left and was unemployed, thrown out of college even though I got the highest marks in the class!!! (They have since apologised- and facing my solicitor) I am now facing a major operation in the next few weeks  – but hey I am still smiling because I am here! I am alive! I am happy! I pray, keep positive and focused. In the next few days I will ‘catch up with you all and fill you in – but for now I’m doin’ fine.

I am making a comeback!

September23

The last 4-6 months have been frightening (because I have done no work that will earn me money) and exciting (because I am re-connecting to what I am passionate about)….

You can read the story here…..

http://inspirationalguidance.com/2008/09/what-did-i-ask-for/

But in a nutshell I am back into my personal development ways and loving it. Its knowing what I know [re personal development] that helped me through this time of lack of work, reduction in income (of course it would help if I did some work!) and being in debt. Despite all of that I stand in faith that wherever this journey is taking me it will end up as a powerful success story within the next few years.

So…. I am back working in my passion. I realised that I needed to step up and step out. I had been hiding my talent for writing personal development material that inspired people because I didn’t believe it was good enough to get out there and yet everything I write brings back comments about how it helped the person reading it (or listening to it in the case of audios).

I know my greatest journey is overcoming my double insecurities (numerology double one) but that double one also means I have double creativity and can empower/inspire with my words.

Since building my relationship with God (which is going great by the way!) I have been able to step into that power and own it. I am ready to shine my light on anyone who wants to listen :-)

So I spent yesterday and today getting ready Inspirational Guidance – my offline business. Its original purpose was to empower women and that’s what I am back doing. I have been guided to be at and be part of some great events and conversations leading up to this moment right here.

Following my intuition is a gift I have had for years and now I have never felt stronger about using it than at this moment. My current “condition” is just that – a condition I will now work my way through and out of until I reach my goal of enjoying financial freedom. To some extent it was the pursuit of financial freedom that put me here but it will be my determination to succeed that will help me get out of my current condition.

I will continue to write honestly, from the heart and with complete openness because I believe that my fears and insecurities will always be with me and my lesson is to learn how to work through them, with them, and go round them (not to get rid of them!) The one thing I can honestly say is despite being afraid that fear never stops me. I won’t allow it.

My heaven and hell are right here on earth, and at the moment while I seem to have placed myself in hell it is certainly so that when the moment comes that I step into heaven I will enjoy it even more. I have no doubt about my ultimate success. Its just a case of divine timing :-)

I am whole and complete. Dark and light. Insecure and brilliant and I thank everyone who has helped me get to this point including myself.

I hope you will subscribe to my blog at http://www.inspirationalguidance.com

I will do all I can to inspire you to take action to live your dreams and follow your heart. The calling I received was to give everything away free and to ask for donations if something made a difference so thats what I will start to do. I have promised to follow my intuitive guidance without question and I believe that’s its not my business to worry about where money is going to come from but to keep doing what I am passionate about and the money will follow. Bringing in my income is God’s job and I’ll now hand that over to him!

Once I write something and receive a calling to sell it I will do that too and of course I will continue to work towards writing my book(s).

The areas I will focus on are

  • Getting IT Back (your own personal IT – whatever that may be!)
  • How to ask for what you want
  • Attract without trying (natural attraction of people to help you in life)
  • Discovering Greatness

Right now my main aim is to begin to get my income flowing and I will continue to promote affiliate products (high quality only of course).

In terms of the work that I do online. I still believe that blogs, membership sites and podcasts are one of the best ways to build your audience as a speaker, coach, trainer or writer and will continue to sell that package through http://www.blogpodcast.net once I have completed it.

Eventually that will be outsourced to allow me to focus on writing and personal development.

I am 100% committed to continue my vision of all my businesses being online and automated so that I do not need to be there to make money and that won’t change.

My vision of myself, my children, my laptop and living anywhere in the world is still a strong one and because I can see it I know it’s already achieved.

God bless. Enjoy your journey. Always question who you are and what you do. Life’s too short to be doing anything but what you are passionate about.
