Diary Of A Black Girl

Live life, love, laugh

I'm Fine

September29

I’ve been out of touch for a while – in this ‘while’ so many things have happened to me.  In the moment when these ‘so many things’ were happening in my life I wanted to write – I mean that is what the Diary is for right?  However rather than write I thought I’d give my power to getting through things rather than putting pen to paper (fingers to keyboard) which is not like me usually I diversify and do many things – there was a lot to be said for focusing on one thing – for me it  worked.  It now means I will be writing retrospectively for a while.  Mabey it’ll make more sense if I just get on with it.  There is so much to say I am glad I am sharing this site with my beautiful dear friend Diane.  Whilst writing at this very moment I am thinking and believing this site is such a good tool to share with the world the experiences of two black women getting by in this big ‘ol world our ups and downs, our dreams and aspirations, our loves and losses our challenges and successes.  I am so happy here right now today this very second, and the next and the next …….. this time last year I was HOMELESS yes officially homeless a year on I have my own place, working as a community worker (my love) and lecturing in a college for excluded young people.  I’ve lost weight and I have a much healthier mind, body, soul and spirit.  During the last year I have had a year of abuse at work, left and was unemployed, thrown out of college even though I got the highest marks in the class!!! (They have since apologised- and facing my solicitor) I am now facing a major operation in the next few weeks  – but hey I am still smiling because I am here! I am alive! I am happy! I pray, keep positive and focused. In the next few days I will ‘catch up with you all and fill you in – but for now I’m doin’ fine.

Hey guess what I’ve been ravin’ and just got in – I was with Diane she is most probably catchin`g some zzzzzz’s now.  We went to Masters Wine Bar in Harrow – personally I don’t like the decor but the music and crowd are just swell – it’s like a party everyone rocking to the great selection of music reggae, soca, soul and everything in between.  I had fun though it was a last min decision.  I wish I could rave all week end but I have work to do Sunday and work Monday I am usually a home else I would be out tomorrow.  Both Diane and I got chatted up – a man generously offered to ‘take me home’ (grab your coat you’ve pulled-not). I spoke to a woman who was with friends - celebrating her hen night a full-figured woman - attractive - she is getting married on Wednesday so I wish her all the best.  The great thing about ‘Masters’ is you can speak to people the crowd is friendly.  I also spoke for some time to a nice man who for the past few years has been developing Black History Month in Milton Keynes.  Did you know they have abandoned Black History Month in the London Borough of Harrow – it is called some other rubbish and ‘our’ money has been distributed to the masses – DON’T GET ME STARTED!

Still she raved, she dance, she left, she’s home – I am not tired that is what three Red Bulls (which I do not reccomend) – I do I hope I can sleep.

My wife doesn't understand me! Well neither do I !

June25

I got chatted up today this one of many times this week – both Diane and I are in disbelief – usually I am left sittin’ on the dock of the bay – whistling.  A man came to do some work we spoke and discovered we are both from the same country I lent him my keys and everything is now sorted he done good.  I rang him wanting my keys returned.  No don’t get me wrong the brother is fine looking nice personality with brains but he is married.  I don’t know if he was coming with the ‘my wife does not understand me’ vibe.  In fact I think not – I just don’t get it – why do men do SOME men do this?  Hopefully someone will enlighten me.
