Dominican Diaspora Is About To Hit 4,000

August4

I’m really proud that my Dominican Diaspora network is close to 4,000 members. From February 08 to August that’s quite amazing. The connections I have made, events I have attended and friends made has been truly a blessing.

I need to focus more on our Uniquely Dominican magazine to get that going but as I spend more time purging very soon it will be all I have left to do LOL

If you know anyone from Dominica make sure you tell them about it http://www.dominican-diaspora.com

Its been so important to me growing up in the UK with very little connection to the caribbean to be running this network. I know most people in Dominica probably don’t want us all coming back and telling them how to run their country but I’d still like to play my part in doing something.

God has yet to reveal what that plan is but all in good time I guess.

I just read a really funny post on my Dominican Diaspora site that I wanted to share.

I think I found it funny but scary because that would be me…… standing politely in a line that doesn’t exist trying to shop in Dominica when everyone around me is being served!

It brought back a vision of me in the Post Office when I was over there in the 70s trying to collect post. Try being shy, 14 and havingĀ  to speak up to claim a package!

Anyway here is the post
