Diary Of A Black Girl

Live life, love, laugh

My hair through the years

July18

It took me 3 years to grow my dreadlocks from 2005-2008. Its amazing how quickly dreadlocks grow your hair.  I cut them off in 2009 because they got in the way of my face and were heavy but sometimes I miss them.

and this one was one of my favourite ones

I am tempted to grow them again since cutting them off but to keep them short like in photo two – or to twist them so I can untwist them and do something different with my hair.

How much can a girl do with natural hair? Its either dreadlocks or extensions or a nice big afro

It is also a reminder that it is time to get myself some new glasses :D

Now my hair is short I have to think about what to do next.  Everyone keeps going on at me to grow it although I personally would happily cut it all off until it is a short number 1…. but hair suits me too I guess.

All ideas welcome!

Lend me some sugah I am your neighbour

When returning form work I met up with my neighbour a very sweet man – I love his dread locks and we always complement each others hair.  He is 15 years older than me but as you know BLACK DON’T CRACK so he looks  at least 15 years younger not bad.  I’m pretty new here so we spoke about our ‘village’.  We spoke about life and love – we spoke bout relationships he had met a young lady whilst on holiday in Africa.  We spoke for what seems like hours about life – once more I gained insite to how (some) black men think.  He is a nice guy and soon we were joined by my other neighbour who is a black man – he told us he was getting married to a lady from his home land.  These guys are both real nice, hard working gentlemen with a zest for life.  Once more I was inspired.
